Financial Management

Reducing Your Accounts Receivable.
Presented by Sally McKenzie, CMC
23 minutes

The dental practice’s accounts receivable is the total amount of monies owed the practice by patients and/or insurance companies. It is money that has not been paid the practice for services rendered. It is money that is not in the practice’s checking account which in turn is not available to pay the costs of providing those services including your salary. As a Financial Coordinator it is your responsibility to keep the practice’s accounts receivable at a healthy ratio and that’s what you will learn in this course.

This course will teach those responsible for the collection of money

  • How to ask for money
  • How your temperament type can affect your ability to collect money
  • How to establish a financial policy
  • Presenting the policy to patients and learning how to overcome their objections
  • Sending statements that will bring results
  • Insurance requirements that will get you payment
  • Making those dreaded delinquent account calls to patients
  • Measuring your performance to success
