How will this test benefit me for my new hire?
The U.S. Department of Labor estimates 90% of all resumes contain false information.
Reference checks from former employers generally reveal nothing of significance. Studies have shown that traditional interviews are one of the most flawed parts of the hiring process. As a complement to your existing selection process, testing is an objective, proven, effective method of making the right hires, the first time.
Can I use this test to assess current employees?
Yes, you can test your current staff. In fact the test helps to identify employees’ strengths as well as areas that need improvement. In turn, this increases job satisfaction, productivity and work performance…all factors that improve retention.
Is this similar or different than a personality test?
The test is one of the most respected and widely used measures of normal adult personality in the world and is based on years of substantial research. Personality predicts aspects of performance not necessarily related to knowledge, skills and abilities. Testing predicts what a person WILL do, vs. what they CAN DO.
Is this legal and ethical to give to new hires? Current employees?
Yes, this assessment is fully legal and ethical to give to all potential or existing employees.
How many questions are on the test and how much time does it take to complete?
The test is 107 questions and takes about 20 minutes to complete.
What is considered a Peak Performer?
A peak performer is someone who excels at what they do. The term originated in athletic endeavors, but peak performance has spread to the business world. When you hire peak performers rather than average employees, you'll have a stronger office and a much more profitable practice.
Can I give 1 test to multiple employees or do I have to buy one for each person I am testing?
Each test is good only for one person. You must purchase a new test for each potential or current employee.
My computer shut down while I was taking the test, what do I do?
You can complete a portion of the test and come back later and finish it, or if your computer shuts down, you can simply log back in with your username and password to complete it from where you left off. No information will be lost and the system is secure.
I lost my username and password- how do I get it back?
It is very important to protect and store all passwords and usernames in a safe location. You will be responsible for maintaining your list to know what usernames and passwords you have already used if you purchased more than one. However, in the event that you have lost that information, call 877-777-6151 or email testing@mckenziemgmt.com and we will track those for you.
Do usernames and passwords expire?
The usernames and passwords do not expire. But, they can only be used once.
I exited the site before I finished the test? What do I do now?
Simply log back in. All of your information will be saved.
Are there different tests for different job titles?
There are different tests for each job description- Dentist, Front Office, Hygienist, and Clinical Assistant. Each test is relative to the position.
What if my definition of the Front Office position is different than your definition? How do I know this will give the results tailored to my practice?
The Institute for Personality and Ability Testing (IPAT) and McKenzie Management worked together with experts in the dental field. These were people who have direct, up-to-date experience with each job, its duties, responsibilities, and requirements for successful performance. The test profiles generalize across multiple, unrelated offices.
Do employees/future hires take this test at home or in my office?
These tests should be completed at the office for security and accuracy reasons.
How long does it take to get the results back?
The procedure is simple: Applicants log onto the McKenzie Employee test site to take the assessment. Within minutes of completion, you receive a statistically reliable report enabling you to clearly determine if the candidate under consideration would be a good match for the dental practice position you need to fill.
How do I interpret the results once they come back in?
An interpretive guide is available by going to: http://mckenziemgmt.com/employeeresults.htm
How do I decide who should receive the results of this email? Is it me or my office manager?
You will need to identify the person to whom the assessment results are emailed when you purchase the test.
Should I worry about spam blocking the email?
The report email will come from ‘custserv@IPAT.com’ and will read ‘Your IPAT Report(s)’. To insure delivery please enter this email address into your address book.
I am not computer savvy, nor are my employees. Can I get the test mailed to me?
The test cannot be mailed to you or put on a disk. The test is available only online.
What kind of software do I need to have installed on my computer?
As long as you can access the Internet and email, you will not have to download any software or install anything on your computer.
Do I have to download or install anything on my computer to do this test?
No, nothing needs to be downloaded or installed to view the test.
Why does every test have to have a username and password to access?
Every test has a username and password for confidentiality and categorization according to one of the four common positions in a dental office.
If I decide I don’t like the results the test gives, or the test itself, can I get a refund?
Unfortunately we cannot provide refunds on the tests. If you want to view a test report sample please contact testing@mckenziemgmt.com.
Who is the creator of this test?
McKenzie Management, in partnership with the Institute for Personality and Aptitude Testing (IPAT), developed this ground-breaking assessment, the first of its kind for the dental industry. The test measures job applicants against a profile of the “ideal” dental practice employee for four different positions.
How did they distinguish who was a peak performer and who is not?
McKenzie Management, and IPAT obtained input from experts working in the dental profession. After we identified the personality requirements for a particular job, we tested a large segment of high-performing employees already working in that position. The data was combined through statistical analysis to create the existing profiles of ‘ideal’ dental employees in the roles of hygienist, front office, clinical assistant and dentist.
Does the information become dated? Do I need to repeat the tests every year?
The test predicts personality characteristics that are generally stable and reliable over time. Therefore you do not need to re-administer it.
Is there any other testing out there that is similar to this for the dental profession?
The test is exclusive to McKenzie Management. It is the first and only employee test adapted exclusively for the dental practice, and it cannot be purchased anywhere else.
How do I know if the test is worth it? How do I know if I will benefit from it?
Considering that the costs of replacing just one employee can equal up to twice their annual salary, testing means big savings!
