Have you increased your hygiene days per week in the past year? If not ... this book is a must!!!

by Sally McKenzie, CMC

Unfortunately, patient retention is not guaranteed by preappointing, sending postcards, letters, or even phone calls.  But an effective use of an integrated retention system can significantly improve your ability to keep patients returning.  This step-by-step guide to the systems used by today's most progressive practices includes:  letters that get responses, telephone monitoring techniques to ensure patient retention, tools to monitor your success, and scheduling tips for a productive hygiene department.

Recall Reminder Notices

Stop sending those "cutesy" postcards!

Most people don't go to the dentist because they feel there is no need to.  Sending a cheap, cutesy postcard is not going to convince them otherwise and might do more harm than good.  Cheap is not the message you want your patients to receive.  If you are going to the expense of mailing, why not spend an extra few cents for a more persuasive device?

A professional notice sent in an envelope invites serious consideration as well as providing an ideal opportunity to enclose a pre-med prescription or an educational brochure that will help raise the patient's awareness.

Best of all, a personal handwritten message from the hygienist will reinforce why the patient needs to come in for the recall visit.  This investment in patient retention pays off 2 ways, first, existing patients stay active; and second, active patients mean more word-of-mouth referrals.  These notices have the look and feel of a personal invitation.  The cards are die-cut for easy insertion of your appointment/business card.

*Please note that all notices can be ordered with the message printed horizontal or vertical on the card.

Message A: Confirming appointment
Message B:  Call for an appointment

The New Hygiene Department

Taking your Hygiene Department to the Next Level

by Dr. Allan Monack, DMD, FAGD, Consultant

Is your hygienist producing at least 33% of his/her total production in periodontal services? Are the majority of your patients on 6 month recalls?

Most hygienists perform way below the industry standards. Why? Because they can lack disease assessment skills or performance skills, and because they don't know how to communicate to the patient they have been treating every 6 months that they now have gum disease.

This "how to" manual will help you to establish a protocol for your hygienist to implement new strategies, formulas, and techniques for developing an ultra-successful hygiene department. Updated Version!
